Helmets don’t provide protection against every conceivable type of impact or extreme force, but they considerably reduce the risk of injury from falls and collisions downhill skiers are exposed to in the course of normal skiing, both on and off piste. The helmet can only protect if it fits well, the buyer should try different sizes and choose the size which feels secure and comfortable on the head. 1. It should sit firmly without pressing or chafing. It is important that the helmet can neither ride up on your forehead nor be pushed down over your eyes. We do not recommend that you add stickers, decals or glue to your helmet, or personalize your helmet in any other way. This may reduce durability and affect your protection. The helmet should be viewed as a perishable item and replaced after 3–5 years or normal use, or immediately after an impact. If you know or suspect that your helmet has been damaged or exposed to any abnormal force, you should have it carefully checked by an authorised POC dealer. Damage that may reduce your helmet’s protective qualities can be invisible and difficult to detect. Replace the helmet if there is any sign or suspicion of damage. POC helmets are only intended for alpine skiing, biking and mountaineering (see certification label on each helmet). Do not use this helmet for any other activity, such as motorsports, horseback riding or climbing. Do not allow children to use this helmet whenever there is a risk of strangulation if the helmet or straps should get caught on some object. It is important that the helmet fits your head properly and that it is correctly buckled. However, accidents serious injuries or death can occur even if the helmet is properly used. POC makes no claim that this helmet will eliminate all possibility of injury. Replace this helmet if there is any indication or suspicion of damage. Such damage may be invisible to the user. Its impact absorbing properties are lost if the original composition of the materials in every part of this helmet is not intact. Using chemical agents to clean the helmet could be very dangerous and could dramatically decrease its protective properties. Nor is any attempted repair or replacement with any part or accessory other than original POC parts and products covered by the terms of this warranty.
